ABSTRACT PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

  • Key Dates
    • Submission Deadline: 10th August (by 5 PM, no exceptions)

    • Notice of Acceptance: 11th August

    • Final Presentation Submission Deadline: 15th August (PPTs for award papers, JPGs for posters)

    • Submission Process

    • Email Submissions: Send all abstracts to basicsbeyond2024@gmail.com with the subject line "Paper/Poster Submission" after registering for the symposium.

    • Registration is free but mandatory.

    • Submission Limit: Each presenting author can submit only one abstract for paper consideration but may submit multiple abstracts for posters. Award Papers: Only original studies are eligible; case reports and small case series are not considered.

    • Posters: Can include studies, perspectives, and case reports. Evaluation and Results Abstract evaluation results will be emailed to the submitting (presenting) author by [10th August].

    • Papers selected for award presentation or e-Poster will be notified. Abstracts not chosen for award presentation will automatically be converted to posters. The decision of the Scientific Committee is final.

    • Abstract Preparation Instructions Language and Format: Submit abstracts in English, using Times New Roman, size 12, and double spacing. Word Count: Limit abstract body to 300 words (excluding title, authors, affiliations, etc.). Title: Keep it brief, descriptive of the study, without abbreviations or all capital letters. Content: Exclude graphics, figures, photographs, tables, and references. Naming: Use generic names, not brand names. Authors: List up to 3 co-authors for original submissions and 2 for case series/case reports.

    • Conflict of Interest: Mandatory declaration of conflicts of interest. Correspondence: All communication will be with the primary author listed. Originality: Abstracts must be original and not previously published. Changes: No changes are allowed after the submission deadline.

    • Abstract Structure Case Description/Single Interesting Case Report Introduction Description of the Case Conclusion: Mention the novelty, uniqueness, or significance of the case. Original Study Background Aims & Objectives Materials & Methods Results Limitations Conclusion: Emphasize new and important aspects of the study and the conclusions drawn. Poster Presentation Use the format above, depending on whether it is a study, case report, or perspective.   • Abstract preparation instructions •
  • All abstracts must be submitted in English- Times New Roman, with a font size of 12 and double spacing. •

  • The word count only includes the body of the abstract and should be no longer than a 300- word count (excluding title, authors, affiliations, etc.)

  • • To ensure a blinded review, identifying features such as names of authors and their affiliations should not be included in the abstract body. There will be a separate provision for entering author details and affiliation(s) in the submission platform.

  • • The title should be brief and indicate the nature of the study. Abbreviations must not be used in the title. The title should not be written entirely in capital letters.

  • • Do not include graphics, figures, photographs, tables, or references in the abstract.

  • • Use/refer to generic names rather than brand names.

  • • A maximum of 5 co-authors can be listed on the original submission and 3 for the case series/case report.

  • • Conflict of interest: Declaration of conflict of interest is mandatory and a separate provision will be provided for the same.

  • • All correspondence related to the submission and acceptance will be addressed to the primary author listed on the submission.

  • • The Scientific Committee will decide and communicate the final category that your abstract has been accepted for an Award paper, Free paper, or Poster presentation. •

  • The material in the abstract must be original and not previously published.

  • No changes may be made to the abstract submission after the submission deadline. For instance, no change in authors, title, category, content, or spelling will be allowed. If a change is required for scientific or academic accuracy, the abstract submission should be withdrawn.

  • Structure the abstract under the following subheadings:

  • 1) For Case Description Category/ Single interesting Case Report Introduction Description of the case Conclusion. Mention the novelty, uniqueness, or worthiness of the presentation

  • 2) For Original Studies and Case Series Background Aims & Objective/s Materials & methods Results Limitations Conclusion: Emphasise new and important aspects of the study and conclusions that are drawn from them

  • 3) For Poster Presentation The format is as above depending on if it is a Study/Case series or Case report/Perspective.
